Products You'll Need
- Non-oily facial cleanser.
- Cotton Pads.
- Clay Mask.
- Non-oily sunscreen moisturizer.
- Fine-point concealer.
- Powder-based concealer.
- Waterproof mascara.
- Pressed-powder eye shadows.
- Use a non-oily facial cleanser before applying makeup. Apply the cleanser to your face as instructed on the product label. Rinse your face well with lukewarm water. Blot away moisture from your face with cotton pads.
- Cover your face, from your forehead to your upper neck, with a clay mask. Keep the mask on for 10 to 15 minutes or as directed by the instructions. Rinse your face well with tepid water. Give yourself a clay mask treatment at least twice a week to tighten the skin, refine pores and to absorb dirt, oil and impurities in the skin. According to The Signal, clay masks rectify skin problems and allow makeup products to absorb more fully, dramatically reducing makeup smudging during the summer months.
- Apply a non-oily sunscreen moisturizer. Allow it to fully absorb.
- Instead of applying liquid or clay-based foundation creams, opt for a concealer two to three shades lighter than your skin tone. Dampen a fine-point concealer brush and apply a powdered-based concealer to any blemishes or uneven skin tone. A powdered concealer will resist smudging or rubbing off during days of high humidity.
- Test waterproof mascara by applying it to your lashes before you shower. If it survives the hot steam, it will survive warm, humid weather.
- Apply lighter-colored eye shadow on top and around the eyelids; lighter colors are naturally more "forgiving" than darker hues. Pressed-powder eye shadows are less likely to smudge or run in hot weather.
- Choose a lip stain instead of regular lipstick or gloss.
